Rustfun deployment guide / How to play

From beach to base.

Launch Rust, connect to Rustfun, and turn a fresh spawn into a defensible start. Follow this route in order and avoid the mistakes that end most first runs.

Pre-deployment check

Before you connect

  • Steam version of Rust installed
  • Latest game update completed
  • Stable network connection
  • Server: play.rustfun.games:28015

Deployment route

Complete the four steps in order. The first two get you online; the last two keep the first session from ending on the beach.

Before launch

Install and update Rust

Install Rust through Steam and let the game finish every update before connecting. Restart Steam after a large patch, then launch the standard Rust client so Easy Anti-Cheat starts correctly.

Server access

Find the live Rustfun address

Search for Rustfun in the server browser. For direct connect, open the F1 console and enter client.connect play.rustfun.games:28015.

Fresh spawn

Secure the first essentials

Choose a spawn away from immediate fights, collect enough cloth for a sleeping bag, then gather wood and stone for tools. Secure food and water before carrying more resources than you can protect.

Secure the run

Build for the wipe

Start with a compact base, place and authorize on the Tool Cupboard, lock every door, and upgrade exposed twig. Check the wipe schedule before committing time and resources to a larger build.

Fresh-spawn priorities

First 15 minutes

  1. Place a sleeping bag away from the busiest monuments.
  2. Secure enough food and water to keep moving.
  3. Craft basic tools before farming large resource stacks.
  4. Build a compact starter with a Tool Cupboard.
  5. Upgrade exposed twig and lock every exterior door.

Connection problems

Quick fixes

Rustfun does not appear in the server browser

Refresh the browser filters and confirm that Rust is fully updated. If the listing is still missing, open the F1 console and enter client.connect play.rustfun.games:28015.

Easy Anti-Cheat disconnects me

Restart Steam and Rust first. If the problem continues, verify the Rust game files in Steam and run the Easy Anti-Cheat repair tool included with the game before reconnecting.

The server is full or the queue is slow

Remain in the queue and avoid repeatedly reconnecting, because reconnecting can return you to the end. Only expect queue priority when a current store product explicitly includes it.
